Currently there are no instances scheduled for this event

Join WOW Founder Jude Kelly for powerful stories and bold conversations as The WOW Show tours the North East, taking a fresh look at feminism today with very special guests.

This October, The WOW Show with Jude Kelly: In Search of The Hope Brigade comes to Durham as part of the first-ever WOW North East Festival!

At this event, Jude welcomes the brilliant comedian and writer Shaparak "Shappi" Khorsandi, bringing her trademark wit and fearless honesty to the stage. Together, they'll also shine a spotlight on a local hero nominated by the community - someone making an extraordinary difference close to home.

At a time when rights are under threat and equality feels out of reach, The WOW Show is a space to rage, reflect and find hope. You can expect:

- Big ideas and bold conversations

- Local heroes celebrated live on stage

- Interactive discussion on the issues that matter to YOU

Tickets are £15 and can be purchased via the Gala Durham website.

The WOW Show with Jude Kelly is part of the WOW Festival. Taking place in partnership with S&DR200, we'll be packing Gala Durham full of unmissable talks, performances and workshops to celebrate the incredible women, girls and non-binary people of the North East, with speakers including Jill Scott, Emma Dabiri and Ashley James.

We'll explore the role women and girls had in the huge leap forward that the railway presented 200 years ago, and how we can make sure that women and girls are at the centre of the next wave of technological advancement - not just in the region, but right around the world.
