Early Railways Conference | S&DR200 Fringe
An occasional series of gatherings by persons interested in the beginnings of the railway industry throughout the world.
The 8th International (Hybrid) Early Railways Conference will be held at the Central Hall, Dolphin Centre, Horse Market, Darlington, DL1 5RP from Tuesday 23rd September 2025 to Friday 26th September 2025 (Tuesday evening and 9am to 5pm Wednesday to Friday). Bookings can now be made for delegates to participate in the conference, either in person or via the internet.
An occasional series of gatherings by persons interested in the beginnings of the railway industry throughout the world. New research topics are presented, ranging from the pre-main-line era of waggonways, through the commencement of main line railways, to the developing introduction and operation of the earliest railways in each country.
