Bicentennial Pen Pals Book Launch | S&DR200 Fringe
The first book launch event for the Bicentennial Pen Pals project.
An Epistolary Anthology between residents of Stockton & Darlington in 2025 and those in 1825.
These letters, written by children, teenagers and adults, corresponding across two centuries, represent a series of creative investigations, anthropological enquiries and imaginative excavations. Resuscitating the dying art of the letter, twenty two writers present their hauntingly charming and highly inventive ghost-communications, full of the stuff of ordinary life and inspired by personal memoir, auto-fiction, archival research, literary studies and historical interpretation.
The event will include readings, discussion and Q & A.
Another event will be held 24th September at Centre for Local Studies, Darlington Library at 2.30pm.
