Ghost Train: The Arrival
Ghost Train is a two part large-scale outdoor performance taking place in Stockton and Darlington. It will arrive on Stockton Riverside on the evening of Sunday 28 September after a performance in Darlington on Saturday 20 September.
S&DR200 has commissioned Avanti Display, and Walk the Plank will co-produce and present two celebratory events to commemorate this remarkable feat of innovation and engineering.
Ghost Train is a two part large-scale outdoor performance taking place in Stockton and Darlington. It will arrive on Stockton Riverside on the evening of Sunday 28 September after a performance in Darlington on Saturday 20 September.
This epic outdoor show features a reimagining of Locomotion No. 1, accompanied by six illuminated carriages. The after-dark performance includes a specially composed musical score, live music, projection, and a community cast of national and local performers, including performance students and local volunteers from across Darlington and Stockton. It tells the human story behind the birth of the passenger railway and explores the impact it had on the region.
The production combines storytelling, music, and physical theatre with fire and pyrotechnic effects.

This is event takes place outdoors and is suitable for all ages. An accessible viewing platform is available for those who may require it. The event features live and recorded music but no spoken word.
